Vernon Thompson, 65, died Saturday morning. October 16 at 1:30 a.m. at his home in Springdale after a long illness.
He was born February 19, 1889 at Perrie Lee, Texas but had been a resident of Arkansas for 62 years. Mr. Thompson was converted some time ago and had lived a devoted Christian life since.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Venna Thompson, six sons and six daughters, Archie Thompson, Greenfield, Calif., Crawford Thompson, Springdale, Vernon Thompson Jr., Tulsa, Okla., Claude Thompson, Huntsville, John Carl and Charlie of the home; Mrs. Lenora Butler, Springdale, Mrs. Ruth Griggs, Kingston, Mrs. Estelle Cook, Springdale, Mrs. Goldie Nobles and Mrs. Rosie Dolph of Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. Dixie Calico, Huntsville; three brothers, Fields Thompson, Shreveport, La. and George Thompson, Greenville, Texas; one sister, Lizzie Stroud of Huntsville, and 22 grandchildren.
Graveside services conducted by Rev. Noel Easterling were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kingston. Burial was in the Kingston cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were D.L. Thompson, Melton Thompson, Olen Thompson, Melvin Stroud, Bea Stroud and Earnest Combs.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, in Downum Funeral Home, Heavener, Oklahoma. Burial was in Howe, Oklahoma Cemetery.

Services were Tuesday, March 3, in Nelson Funeral Home in Green Forest. Burial was in Rule Cemetery.

The Rev. Claud William Thompson, 60, of Route 2, Huntsville, died May 3, 1984 at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1924 at Truth, the son of Vernon and Uenna Stansell Thompson. He was an ordained minister of the Old Union Association of United Baptists and was a member of the New Home United Baptist Church at Lower Campground.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Juanita Parker Thompson of the home; three sons, Johnny Lee Thompson and David Thompson, both of the home and Gary Thompson of Berryville; one daughter, Mrs. Judy Houston of Berryville; his mother, Mrs. Uenna Thompson of Springdale; three brothers, John Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Crawford Thompson, all of Springdale; six sisters, Mrs. Goldie Nobles of Howe, Okla., Mrs. Rosie Wright of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Ruth Griggs and Mrs. Dixie Elzey, both of Huntsville, Mrs. Flawie Butler and Mrs. Estelle Stamps, both of Springdale; one grandson, Lyndell Thompson of Berryville and one granddaughter, Miss LaTasha Thompson of Berryville.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, at the Kingston Community Church with the Rev. Alvin Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were J.B. Yarbrough, Eugene Bohannan, Donald Smith, Dale Houston, Dennis Davis, and Bud Cline.

Charles W. Thompson, 49, of Springdale died Dec. 6, 1986 at Springdale. He was born May 16, 1937, in Truth, the son of Vernon Sr. and Venna Stansell Thompson. He was a Baptist and a supervisor for Tyson Foods Inc. hatchery on Randall Road.
Survivors include his widow, Patricia Jaro Thompson of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Thompson and Steven Thompson of Springdale; one daughter, Patty Hatfield of Rogers; his mother, Venna Thompson of Huntsville; two brothers, Crawford Thompson and John Thompson of Springdale; six sisters, Estelle Stamps of Lowell, Goldie Nobles of Howe, Okla., Ruth Griggs and Dixie Elzey of Huntsville, Floye Butler of Springdale and Rosie Dolph of Tulsa; and two grandchildren, Jaime Jo Hatfield and Jennifer Sonja Hatfield of Rogers.
Services were Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with burial in Friendship Cemetery.

Mrs. Venna Thompson, 84, of Springdale, died Feb. 28, 1987, at Meadowview Lodge in Huntsville. She was born June 10, 1902, at Whorton Creek, Ark.; the daughter of Oliver and Susan King Stansell. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the widow of Vernon Thompson, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1954.
Survivors include two sons, Crawford Thompson and John Thompson, both of Springdale; six daughters, Mrs. Estelle Stamps and Mrs. Floye Butler, both of Springdale, Mrs. Goldie Nobles of Howe, Okla., Mrs. Ruth Griggs and Mrs. Dixie Elzey, both of Huntsville, and Mrs. Rose Dolph of Tulsa, Okla.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, March 2, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Interment was in the Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons.
