New Hope Church Membership Records.. New Hope Church constituted; Territory of Arkansas, County of Washington (now Madison County, Kingston, Arkansas) dated Feb 12 1832 Members convened & called for a Presbatery consisting of Elders S. Wheat & William Pasten & was constituted into a church called New Hope. This information was sent to me by Tom Mitchell of Midland, TX.

Sarah Reynolds, Tom and Viola Reynolds, and Elsie Reynolds, Alvie Reynolds, and Altie Reynolds all joined the church on Aug 27 1921. The records also confirm the death of Elsie Reynolds in 1973.



Alta Reynolds of Wharton, Madison, Arkansas was listed in Belle Griggs's obituary in October 1936 as a surviving daughter.
Mrs. Belle Reynolds

Mrs. Belle Reynolds was born June 14, 1872, and died October 20, 1936, at her home near Wharton, Ark. Funeral service was conducted at the home by Rev. Jake Drake and burial was made in the Kingston cemetery Oct. 22.

Mrs. Reynolds was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Grigg. She was married to Jackson Reynolds Jan. 30, 1887. Ten children were born to them, all of whom are living except one who died in infancy. They are Mrs. Rosa Keck, Mrs. Pearl Easterling, Mrs. Alta Mullins, Mrs. Iva Easterling, Fred Reynolds, Spurgeon Reynolds and Charley Reynolds, all of Wharton and James Reynolds of Rogers, Arkansas. She is also survived by her husband and three brothers, Isom Grigg and Dave Grigg of Oklahoma, and Tom Grigg of Kingston, and by 39 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. All the mentioned relatives were present at the funeral except the brothers in Oklahoma.

Mrs. Reynolds became a member of the Baptist church before she was married. She was a faithful Christian, a devoted wife and mother and friend indeed to everyone wh... X.

Alta Reynolds of Fayetteville, Washington, Arkansas was listed in Andrew Jackson "AJ" Reynolds's obituary in December 1944 as a surviving daughter.

Andrew J. Reynolds

Andrew Jackson Reynolds, age 81, died December 18 at his home near Wharton. Burial was in the Kingston cemetery Dec. 20, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. H. T. Lane. The Bruce Brashears Undertaking Company was in charge of the arrangements.

The deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rosey Keck of Wharton, Mrs. Alta Mullins of Fayetteville, Mrs. Ina Easterling and Mrs. Pearl Easterling of Huntsville, and five sons, James of Rogers, Charlie of Garfield, Spurgeon of Wichita, Kas., Frank of Fairview, Mo., and Fred of Huntsville.
